Second Annual EOHC Summer Milshoot
An Eastern Ontario Handgun Club (EOHC) sanctioned event brought to you by SKScanuck, Andy and Leadslinger.
Saturday July 28, 12:00-4:00
Permitted Rifles
Only unmodified milsurps of WWII or earlier design with iron sights may be used - no "bubbas" or sniper guns. Must be as issued, full military wood & sights, no exceptions. Based on this definition, for example a 1950's Garand, Mosin M44, Irish contract No4 MkII and Spanish Mauser bolt gun are in, but the FN-49, and a scoped, Mojo'd or peep-sighted Yugo 24/47 are out. SKS's are permitted - all variants including Norinco "clones", but they must be in original military configuration - "not pimped out". If you are not sure if your gun qualifies, please ask. Sling use is permitted and encouraged.
Military Rifle - two groups who shoot together but have two separate categories for scoring:
Antique (as defined by the CFC); and
Other (as per permitted rifles)
Course of Fire:
100 yd Seated - 3 minutes;
100 yd Prone - 3 minutes;
200 yd Seated - 3 minutes;
200 yd Prone - 3 minutes; and
a separately scored event, the
Mad Minute – as many as possible in one minute at 200 yds from the 100 yd berm (so the distance is 100 yds), and we will maintain separate scoring for semi-autos.
Each shooter will fire a total of 40 shots with a maximum possible score of 400. The targets used will be the Shooting Federation of Canada 50 yard slow fire pistol target.
For the Mad Minute, the target used will be the "Charging Man" 11/59 target (see below). The number of rounds required is up to the shooter (likely fewer than 20).
No spotting scopes or spotters calling out shots is permitted.
All action and handling of firearms will be strictly controlled by an EOHC-appointed Range Safety Officer. Please read and be prepared to follow EOHC Range Safety Rules. Safety is paramount. See
www.eohc.ca for that information as well as directions to the club.
Competitors provide the firearm and ammo - a mat for the prone and kneeling/sitting stage is strongly suggested. There exists the potential for kind souls to lend a firearm if the participant provides the ammo (a minimum of 60 rounds is suggested). If you lack an appropriate firearm, I suggest you post your request here and then take it from there by PM.
Sighting in from 9:00-11:45 - no exceptions!
Note: - these times are approximate and are based on the participation of 30 shooters
The Match goes Rain or Shine. Spectators welcome.
Cost: $5.00
No advance registration required. You do not need to be a member of EOHC!
