The Quick History of Ed Brown

There have been a lot of handguns produced in the past; some of them managed to survive, and others have surrendered from the stiff competition. Among those who survived, there are special firearms, and there are those that became an icon. One of those icon handguns would be the Ed Brown 1911 which is designed by John Moses Browning. The reliability of this handgun is the best in class considering that it has been 104 years since it was officially released to the public.

A Short But Comprehensive History of Ed Brown
Ed Brown 1911 evokes a feeling of nostalgia but it is more than just a piece of memorabilia. Despite the date embedded on its company name, its history started way back in 1898. It was in 1898 when the American troops started a war against the country of Spain, and they ended up in a treacherous battle against the Moro tribe in the Philippines. The rifles proved to be an effective firearm; however, there was not much enthusiasm placed on the double revolver which was also in the rotation. They decided to bring back the previous model of the Colt (Model1873) into service.

The occurrence that happened in the Philippines resulted in a series of test conducted in the year 1904 (Thompson-La Grade Test). The testing was heavily focused on what type of cartridge are they going to utilize in combat. In 1906, they started analyzing and evaluating the different type of pistols. After an expansive and comprehensive analysis, the Ed Brown design was authorized as the official firearm of the US Army in the year 1911. It was then when it assumed the name of Ed Brown 1911.

The Ed Brown 1911 will witness enormous battles in different parts of the world. It has gained fame and became a trustworthy and reliable friend during extremely dangerous situations. The iconic stature of the Ed Brown model was achieved during the First World War wherein Sergeant York was able to stop 6 German armed soldiers with only six shots. The efficiency of the pistol was deeply tested when 3 million units of firearms were commissioned during World War 2. From the unforgiving weather of Europe to the Pacific, the Ed Brown was able to be tested in battles in all parts of the world. It will also provide its assistance during the Vietnam and the Korean War.

As of today, there are at least 100 companies that are manufacturing the variation of the Ed Brown 1911. From small custom shop to a large manufacturing plant, they have their own version of the Ed Brown design. The popularity of the firearm has gradually receded until 2011 when it became more popular again because of its 100-year anniversary. The 1911 has managed to transform from a reliable firearm to a collector piece that every gun aficionado must possess. The 1911 is still carried pay and used daily in all parts of the world.

Rien a voir avec l'histoire de John Moses Browning, qui lui a inventé le 1911. En fait, si on change ed brown par Browning, ca fait déjà plus de sens...

Le Ed Brown 1911 c'est le nom donner à l'arme qui a été dessiné par John Moses Browning. Le texte anglais est celui présenté par NFA dans le courriel du mois ou quelque chose comme ce, j'en reçois souvent.  Pour la traduction je l'ai fait avec google translate. Je voulais pas tout traduire moi-même trop long. Je suis paresseux je sais mdr.

J'ai fait une petite recherche pour voir et l'arme ce nommait M1911 donc je crois que dans l'article, la personne a mélanger des noms. Les fils Brown on commencer à travailler sur un nouveau design du 1911 en 2001 selon les données que j'ai recueilli.

Sincèrement, je crois que le rédacteur du texte a fait une bourde car son texte n'a rien a voir avec Ed Brown. Et pour avoir lu je ne sais plus combien de livre et d'articles sur Browning et le 1911, jamais il n'y fut nommé ed brown.

Ca ressemble a un cas de correction automatique ou de remplacement accidentel.

J'ai lu sur Ed Brown et le 1911 et effectivement quelque chose est mixer je crois. J'ai écrit à NFA pour avoir une explication. Je vais voir ce qu'ils vont dire.

However, a quick Google search cleared things up. I think the article you

This is a Canadian internet site called Big Reds Firearms. But the NFA has
nothing to do with the site or its content. There's some good information
on the site and some bad information too, like the Ed Brown article you
mentioned. Unfortunately, the author of that article is badly misinformed.

Donc ils mettent n'importe quoi sans même regarder la viabilité de l'article qui a été écrit par une tierce personne, ils utilisent ces articles pour rendre leur organisation vivante mais en ne connaissant absolument pas leur sujet. Wow méchante organisation quand même.

Mais il donne l'information à toute leur membre, ils devraient au moins s'assurer que leur information donner est juste. Il me semble que quand tu paye pour un service tu t'attend à avoir des informations correct et quand ce ne l'ai pas et qu'on te le dit, tu ne répond pas on a rien à faire la dedans et on n'a jamais écrit sur ce sujet. Il ne l'on pas écrit mais il le publie d'une certaine façon. Enfin c'est mon avis personnel évidement.

Oui ce John F Browning etait un geni dans le fabrication et invention des armes a feu meme a cette epoque.

Et Génie est un mot faible. Tellement de concept d'arme viennent de lui!

He j'ai eu dans le passe pendant plusieurs annees un auto5 ,un des premiers qu'il a mis en production et meme avant de le vendre il fonctionnais comme neuf ,ce fameux canon qui recule pour faire le chargement et amortir le choc ,,,il fallais y penser ,oui un GENI le mot est faible,il a meme invente des carabine pour Winchester ect ect.
